Color Shadows

Materials: Water Bottles, colored water, lamps, colored plastic dividers
Activity: Colored Water Bottles Activity: Place a desk lamp on the floor, in a darkened room. Let the light shine on a long sheet of white paper. Place plastic water bottles (filled with water and food coloring) on the white paper. See colored shadows! Colored Lights Activity: Lay two or three desk lamps on the floor, in a darkened room. Place pieces of colored plastic divider, loosely, in front of the desk lamps. Stand in the path of the desk lamps, and see your shadows on the wall behind you. Depending on where everything is set up, you may see several colored shadows of yourself!
Research Questions: How does the position of a light affect where shadows appear? How does the color of a light affect how shadows appear? How does the transparency of an object affect how shadows appear?
