Whisper Phones

Materials: PVC pipe or pop-toob
Activity: Create a Phonics phone, from pvc pipe (see link below) or a pop-toob. Speak in one end and listen through the other. Try other materials such as pool noodle, pop toobs or a twirling sound tube. Let a friend listen on the other end.
Research Questions: Using a whisper phone: How does where you speak affect how much the listener hears? How does where you listen affect how much you hear? How does the shape, size or material of the whisper phone affect how much you hear?
