Materials: Cup of water, straws
Activity: Two Straws in a Cup Activity: If you put two straws in a cup of water, you can drink through the straws. If you put one straw in the water and the other straw outside of the water, you shouldn't be able to drink through the straw. Straw in a Cup with a Lid Activity: If you put a straw in a cup without an airtight lid, you can drink water through the straw. If you put a straw in a cup with an airtight lid, you shouldn't be able to drink through the straw.
Research Questions: Does the size of straw affect whether you can drink with it? (Coffee straws, extra long straws, fat straws) Type of container? Number of straws? Position of straws?
