Materials: ball, filled plastic jar, empty plastic jar
Activity: Roll or Slide Activity: Let's push objects down the slide, then push them down the big hill. Do they roll down or slide down? Disk, Ball and Hoop Race Activity: Let's roll balls, disks and hoops down a smooth incline! Roll a ball (a ball with a solid core), a disk (full tin can) and a hoop (empty tin can) with the same diameter, the ball will win, the disk will come second, and the hoop will be third.
Research Question: How does the shape of an object affect whether it rolls or slides down an incline?
