Wrecking Ball

Materials: Ball, suspended from ceiling. Pile of cereal boxes or cardboard blocks. Step stool.

Activity: Circle Activity: Ask kids to make a big circle around the wrecking ball pendulum. Take turns swinging the wrecking ball across to others. Stand on the step stool. Swing the wrecking ball pendulum, so it will knock down a cardboard block tower. Wrecking Ball Activity: Stand on the step stool. Swing the wrecking ball pendulum, so it will knock down a cardboard block tower.

Research Questions: How does the size and weight of the wrecking ball affect destruction? Position of tower? Position of wrecking ball pendulum? Method of releasing wrecking ball?
