Halloween Sounds

Materials: Balloon, hex nut
Activity: Drop a hex nut inside a balloon. Inflate the balloon and tie it off. Shake the balloon so the hex nut spins around inside it. Listen to the wacky noise!
Research Questions: How does speed of hex nut affect sound? How does size of hex nut affect sound? How does size of balloon affect sound? Try spinning other objects (penny, marble, small wood block). How does shape of object affect sound?
