Materials: Two 2L soda bottles, a washer, duct tape
Activity: Fill a soda bottle with water. Duct tape another soda bottle to it, with a washer between them. Flip the soda bottles and watch water drain from one bottle to another. Jiggle it and see if you can get a vortex to form. Add food coloring to the water. Add a few drops of dish soap to the water. Add glitter to the water. Try other size bottles.
Research Questions: How does washer size affect tornado? Bottle size? The way you hold the bottle?
