Salt Timer, Sand Timer and Water Timer
Each of these timers last for 10 seconds! It's fun to have big timers and watch them go fast!
1. Far Left – I used two small, plastic, Topo Chico bottles. I like these bottles because they are strong plastic with a smooth surface. I added plain salt and duct taped them together. This was the cheapest, easiest to read, and most fun!
2. Middle – I used two small, plastic bottles from Hobby Lobby. They were better than the Target travel plastic bottles, because they had more of a curve, towards the lid. I added colored sand from Hobby Lobby. It is finer than salt. I made the hole between the bottles smaller by placing a layer of tin foil between them, and poking a hole through the tin foil with a sharp pencil. This one was easy for 2 year olds to hold.
3. Far Right – I used a small plastic jar. I drilled a large hole in the bottom of it. (I added a red circle around the hole.) I filled it with water, and it emptied in 10 seconds.
